Teachers should understand the objectives of teaching for specific grade of students in order to design certain strategy in teaching. Objectives of lesson may be enlisted in curricula or system rules which established in certain country or school. Reading Comprehension Objectives
In the first place, one of the most important skill which need to be developed for second grader of primary school is their skill of reading comprehension. It is important for young learner to improve their reading skill in order to help them acquiring language and develop the understanding some lessons and materials. As a teacher, you should be able to build such a good environment that will encourage them to read and provide them with interesting reading material to build such believe that reading is an interesting activity to do. By then, developing reading comprehension skill is one of the objective in teaching 2nd grade students. As an addition, writing ability is also an important aspect that should be developed during the study of 2nd grade students. They should be able to communicate in writing, write a complete sentence with a noun a verb, reread their writing to monitor meaning and begin to use feedback to change their writing.
For math, there are several objectives that the teacher should reach, including tell time by hours and minutes, estimate and predict simple outcomes, count money, identify place values to hundreds, work with geometric shape, identify the fractions ½, 1/3, and ¼ and many others. To deliver the lessons, the teacher should be able to make the students interesting by giving fancy visual illustration. It will help them to understand and encourage them to learn if you are able to provide them with such a fancy illustrations for the students. For that specific lesson, you should be able to reach those objectives.
